Safer Internet Day 2018

We had a wonderful day dressing up as explorers and pirates.

Science Week

We had lots of fun building bridges. First of all we tried marshmallows and pasta. We balanced pennies to see how strong these materials were.

Then we built bridges from sweets and cocktail sticks. We found out these were much stronger. We produced pictograms and wrote up our investigations.

Our Visit to the Prayer Garden.

A Wonderful Visit from National Grid!

Mrs Maloney and her two colleagues brought drones in today to show the children. They found out why drones are used and more impressively saw them in action!!

No Pens Day Wednesday

We read this fantastic book.

We discussed what it might feel like to be inside a tunnel. We answered questions about where the tunnel might lead. Finally, we got to crawl through the tunnel. It was so exciting!

Halving numbers! We found so many different ways to do this.

We had a fantastic time exploring the castle. We watched the Bowman firing arrows, we saw the Trebuchet in action, we learnt about the Kingmaker and even had time to visit the Great Hall.

Our trip to Warwick Castle

We will be doing P.E. on Tuesdays and visiting the library on Fridays. Our topic is 'Towers, Tunnels and Turrets,' which is all about castles. In fact, we will be visiting Warwick Castle on the 21st September.

Welcome to Year 2! Your teachers this year will be Mrs Farrington (Mon-Wed) and Mrs Tongue on Thursday and Fridays. We will also have the wonderful Mrs Sims working with us every morning and Wednesday afternoon.
