Welcome back to school everyone. It's so lovely to see you all back safe and sound. Your teacher in Year 1 is Mrs Woolley and your teaching assistants are Mrs Kenny and Mrs Reynolds. We are all here to help you to learn and to have fun at school so come and speak to us if you need any help with anything.
Don't forget to look at our class page regularly and enjoy showing your friends and family what we have been up to.
Have you seen the Pupil Zone? Play games and learn more about our topics.
A big hello from Year 1!
Our topic this term is 'Home Sweet Home'. We started our study on our local area by having a walk around Whitnash.
We asked our friends about the type of house they live in.
We have been enjoying the story Stick Man by Julia Donaldson.
We then made our own Stick Men.
"I found a stick with leaves on for his hair."
"We stuck on 'googly' eyes to make our Stick Man."
"WE LOVE OUR STICK MEN!!!"
We sorted ourselves into height order, tallest to shortest.
We are the tallest in our class.
We are the shortest in our class.
The children at the back are taller.
We did an investigation to see if tall people had the biggest feet.
We found out that it was true!
We love being the prayer leader.
We had a fantastic trip to Foundry Wood.
We looked for a rainbow in the woods.
Look at all of the beautiful colours we found.
We made our Stick Men and Women a home.
We have been sharing books with Year 5. The big children chose books that they enjoyed when they were Yr1s.
"I love reading."
"I liked it when Percy splashed in the river."
" I love Elmer books."
"We talked about the story."
"Percy took the letter to Matilda."
"I read about Harry and the dinosaurs."
"I loved sharing this book."
"I liked the pictures."
"The book was so funny."
"I liked going to Year 5."
"I shared two books."
"My book was really funny."
"There was a donkey who could juggle,"
"I liked reading the book."
"Year 5 are cool."
Some firefighters came to our school to talk about fire safety.
Miss Lee dressed up as a firefighter.
The boots and helmet were very heavy. The trousers are called leggings and the jacket is called a tunic. These clothes help to keep the firefighters safe.
Unfortunately the firefighters were called out on a job so they are going to come back and see us after Christmas.
We made Rudolph hats.
We wore them to lunch.
Reindeers eat carrots. Yum!
We have been retelling the parable of The Good Samaritan. We have written story-boards, made puppets and acted out the story.
Here are our fabulous musicians.
Bing BunnyHave fun making a colourful picture with Bing and Flop.
