MATHS

To teach the Maths national curriculum, we use Big Maths (daily CLIC session: rapid, repeated recall and use of core maths facts and skills) and Big Maths: Wider Maths (daily Maths lessons covering the whole curriculum). We have previously held informative Maths workshops for parents and will aim to repeat this soon. Our school Calculations Policy is available for you to read, in order to be more informed when supporting your child at home.

HOMEWORK: our children use Doodle Maths to practice their maths skills at home and develop their learning. Pitched at the level each child individually needs, we encourage 10 minutes practice every day. Little and often makes all the difference. 

We encourage pupils to learn key number facts and timetables through our innovative Total Recall reward system. Children practise, practise, practise being able to recall the facts as quick as lightning and then ask to be tested by the quiz master, Mrs Wallace! The children are awarded the badges when they can answer a selection of questions quickly and accurately. Details of badges can be found below.
