Collective Worship in Year 1
As part of our collective worship we blew bubbles and as they drifted up, we prayed for members of our family.
On Tuesday 25th April, Year 1 went to Campion to take part in a Key Stage 1 sports event. The children competed in sprint, hockey and obstacle races.
They did really well winning a heat and then finishing first overall in the obstacle race against thirteen other school.
Year 1 were very excited when they visited the 'Sea Life Centre' in Birmingham on Wednesday 3rd May. The children were able to watch fish being fed, stroke star fish and enjoy the behind the scenes visit to see where baby fish and sharks are looked after.
Year 1 created rainbows with Skittles.
The children placed skittles around the edge of a plate. They them poured cold, warm and hot water into the middle of the plates until it reached the skittle. We then waited for the rainbow to form. We thought that the warm or hot water would be the best but in fact it was the cold water!
We mixed vinegar and bicarbonate of soda together in a plastic bag and watched what happened!! There were lots of squeals!!
Warwickshire County Council

The children talked about the different parts of the car by looked around one, then learned how to be as safe as they can crossing the road.
