Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

What a wonderful start to the year! We've been busy learning all about castles.

We have painted castles using watercolours.
We enjoyed learning about the artists Paul Klee and Mary Blair and created our own pictures in their styles.
The children have loved reading these books and we even have our own dragon egg in class. We also took part in ‘D.E.A.R.’ which stands for ‘Drop Everything and Read.’
When using Scratch, we learnt how to code. We had such fun making dragons fly, rotate, vanish and reappear.
The class also led Mass beautifully. The children who read did a fantastic job!

Remembrance Day - Wednesday 11th November 2020

Today we paid our respects to the fallen soldiers. We did by listening to Mrs Wallace's special assembly and holding a two minute silence. We also made our own beautiful poppy stained glass windows.

Odd Socks Day

As it's Anti-bullying Week, we wore odd socks today to show we are all unique.

Super Science

We were set a challenge to investigate which material would be the most suitable for an umbrella for Saffire-our dragon! We didn't want her to get wet because she wouldn't be able to breathe fire! We tested the following materials: metal, paper, fabric and plastic.

We discovered the most suitable material for Saffire's umbrella would be plastic because it didn't absorb any water.
Infant Agility
Hooray! Our wonderful class have won the Central Warwickshire KS1 Infant Agility Competition! Well done!
Bambinelli Blessing
Fr Noel blessed our beautiful Bambinellis in our Gospel Assembly. We really enjoyed making them and have brought them home today.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Hooray we are back at school after Lockdown!!

It’s so lovely being with our friends again!

Celebrating the Feast Day of Saint Joseph

CAFOD - Walk for Water

This is our Lenten charity. Every day we walk around the playground and remember those people like Abdella who have to walk for hours each day to provide water for their families.

Happy Easter!

We had great fun today completing an Easter egg hunt.

Summer Term

We acted out the story of 'The Resurrection' in the glorious sunshine. The children did this confidently and enjoyed performing in front of their friends.

After reading the Bible story 'Jesus walks on Water' - Matthew 14, we enjoyed exploring our Discovery value for this half term: Open-mindedness.

Super Scientists

We enjoyed investigating how forces can change the shape of objects. We did this by stretching, twisting, bending and squashing a range of items. We discovered that some objects permanently changed shape.
