Welcome to Reception!
We are having a wonderful time in our new indoor and outdoor areas. We have lots of new and exciting resources to explore and use in our learning. Take a look at what we've been doing.
Our final topic of the year 'Once upon a time,' is all about traditional tales. We have been having fun reading ebooks and acting out stories in our role play castle and outdoor stage.
For the fabulous finish to our 'Once Upon A Time' topic we dressed up for the afternoon as characters from traditional tales.
We had a great day based on 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar,' as the super starter to our new topic Amazing Changes. Making caterpillars, decorating butterfly cakes and face painting were just some of the fun activities on offer.
We went on a trip to The Butterfly Farm in Stratford and saw the amazing changes in the life cycle of a butterfly.
We managed to escape the rain and had some play time in the park.
Indoors we have been....
Outside we have been getting busy,
We love books! Thank you to all the adults that came in to share stories with the children.
We have been hunting for numbers around school, we found them everywhere......
We are loving our daily dough disco.
For the super starter of our new topic, 'Too hot to handle, too cold to hold' we tasted different foods.

We've decorated our winter words tree.
We made ice sculptures. We learned that the ice melts into water when it gets warmer.
For the fabulous finish to our topic 'Too hot to handle, too cold to hold,' we dressed for our favourite weather. We made a beach area with the sand pit and enjoyed ice cream.
We have been enjoying learning about William Shakespeare during writing week. We have looked at the play 'Romeo and Juliet.' We have written about the people we love and thought about what love means to us.
For 'safer Internet day' we learned about staying safe online. We made superhero capes and took part in a whole school parade.

We have been singing number rhymes and playing number games. We have been counting cubes and are practising to write numbers.
In PE we have been creating a Diwali dance.
